DESCRIPTION:Distributed denial-of-service attacks are a persistent problem
in online gaming. Attackers can use inexpensive and easily accessible “
booter” services to disrupt matches\, target opponents\, and interfere w
ith game infrastructure. But what do these services actually look like beh
ind the scenes?\n\nIn this talk\, Iiro Uusitalo explores the DDoS-for-hire
ecosystem from an offensive security perspective. He explains how threat
actors find and use booter services and explains how these services operat
e under the hood.\n\nThe talk includes a technical walkthrough of legally
obtained source code from a real booter service\, offering a rare look at
its architecture\, implementation\, and attack capabilities. By examining
the tooling from an attacker’s perspective\, the session reveals how the
ecosystem works—and what security professionals can learn from it.
